Living Abundantly Minimalistic
Throughout our lives, we often acquire more stuff than we need. The outcome is clutter-filled spaces and items stored in various places throughout our home that we rarely use or even need. When we set the intention to shed the excess, we create space for beautiful energy to flow throughout our home, and we discover a newfound appreciation for the things we do have.
JCL Staging & Design lives by the rule that less is more. Here are some tips to jumpstart your minimalistic mindset and living to truly call-in abundance.
TIP 1: The Essentials of Living

It’s declutter time! Enjoy the process. Invite friends over to go through the years of stuff you’ve acquired, and take a trip down memory lane by shedding the excess and keeping the absolute essentials. Closets and cabinets are always a good place to start because it’s often in those hidden places where we stack and pack the most stuff we really don’t need. Make it a feel-good affair by identifying the items that have been collecting dust in your closet that could really be a gem for someone in need. Create three piles, “Keep it,” “Donation,” and “Trash,” to help get your sorting going. The transition to minimalist living doesn’t have to be painful. Purging through items can be extremely gratifying and giving a portion of the things we no longer use or need to Goodwill or another charity will deliver a sense of purpose by giving back.
TIP 2: Decorate with Purpose

Now that you’ve sifted through the clutter to keep the essentials, you can begin decorating your home with those special items that truly hold meaning, not just space. Place that trinket that your loved one gifted you during a time you needed a pick-me-up in a spot you can easily see it. Your mood can be lifted with a simple glance of that impactful present. Or hang a piece of art that brings you joy on a wall that you walk by often. You can even keep that favorite piece of furniture in an area where you know it will get good use. Being strategic and intentional with the placement of your precious items will surround you with good vibes and energy.
TIP 3: Baskets for Optimal Minimalistic Storage

Baskets are not only great space savers, but they are wonderful ways to store the items you need and create space. Whether it’s using them in your office to hold books or utilizing them in the kitchen for a chic way to store appliances or utensils, baskets can be a staple design option to pair with your minimalistic lifestyle. They look much better on shelves and even the floor than a pile of things.
TIP 4: One Bold Color to Make a Statement

Instead of having multiple splashes of color throughout a room, opt in for one piece that stands out to create a spacious ambiance. Muted colors in the living room with a colorful piece of art on the wall welcomes a Zen feel. An all-white bathroom with bold, bright colorful towels is not only minimalistic but also a budget friendly way to reinvent the color scheme whenever you’d like. And you can never go wrong with beautiful greenery to take the place of art and bring in a touch of Mother Nature to your home.
